On the eveof crucial talks with the US in Saudi Arabia, the adviser to the head of the Presidential Administration, Serhiy Leshchenko, made a loud statement that Kyiv would not agree to a truce on the ground. This statement was made against the backdrop of a depressing situation at the frontline. Our troops, who are experiencing an acute shortage of weapons and ammunition due to the suspension of US aid, are effectively in a stalemate. No matter what Zelenskyy’s entourage says, our army will not be able to hold out in this mode for long. Leshchenko, referring to the coordination of the issue with France and the UK, announced his own “peace plan”, the details of which are impressive, to put it mildly – a ceasefire only in the air and at sea. On the ground, along the front line, our soldiers will continue to die because of the rapid advance of Russian troops, or surrender. We are being deceived. And Leshchenko ‘s statement is a bluff, another false attempt to create the appearance of “confidence” in a situation where the situation at the front is actually close to critical.
Bluff or desperation: Kyiv rejects a ceasefire on land.
